Drive consistency in DevSecOps practices and operational support models Apply Now Description The Defense Sector Leidos is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support an agile development team building .Net applicions primarily for on-premise environments. The role focuses on supporting existing infrastructure and helping design and build future infrastructure needs. The ideal candide has hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines, supporting deployment, rollback, artifact management, managing infrastructure, and partnering closely with software engineers in fast-paced, iterive development environments. This position does have the ability to work remote, but the ideal candide will be loced near Newport News, VA with the ability to be on site if needed. Primary Responsibilities: Promote best practices for infrastructure automion, plform reliability, deployment workflows, and environment management. Provide technical oversight and informed guidance on cloud plforms, container orchestrion, and CI/CD implemention. Establish a DevOps roadmap th aligns the infrastructure capabilities with upcoming opportunities, working closely with solution architects and business development to understand requirements and ensure the infrastructure is available to support the business needs. Contribute to process improvement initiives th increase team efficiency, service quality, and scalability. Drive consistency in DevSecOps practices, tooling, standards, and operional support models across projects. Partner with engineering, architecture, security, and program leadership to align DevSecOps capabilities with business and technical needs. Track incoming requirements, forecast resource needs, identify skill gaps, and recommend hiring or cross-training stregies. Support delivery teams by removing blockers, resolving escalions, and ensuring timely execution of DevOps-reled work. Merge code during release rolls into develop, release candide and master branches. Basic Qualificions: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. US Citizen with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance within 365 days. Experience in DevOps, plform engineering, systems engineering, or reled technical roles. Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, infrastructure automion, and software delivery lifecycle practices. PowerShell scripting experience. Knowledge of Windows and Linux system administrion. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and reled tools for build, test, deployment, and release automion. Experience with Git-based source control workflows and branching stregies Strong communicion, collaborion, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to transle technical constraints and opportunities into actionable plans for leadership and project teams. Experience with vulnerability management, compliance checks and security scanning. Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments using Jira, Confluence or similar collaborion tools. Preferred Qualificions: US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance. Technical background in infrastructure as code, configurion management, and plform automion. Familiarity with tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Bitbucket, MSBuild, Docker Swarm, Puppet or similar. Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, and site reliability concepts. Exposure to virtualizion technologies such as Hyper-V. Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, certifices, firewalls and reverse proxies. Familiar with Active Directory.
