Configure, maintain, and deploy proprietary, real-time mission critical and decision support databases in a highly available heterogeneous environment. Participate in the full life cycle of database application development by performing advanced level operational activities and assisting associate database administrators with customary operational activities; install, configure and upgrade database software to ensure a stable database environment capable of meeting ongoing business needs; tune database environment to optimize performance; troubleshoot, resolve and document production problems; utilize enterprise database backup software to ensure efficient backup and recovery; utilize logical/physical modeling concepts to design databases; perform schema data refreshes and data archiving; work with database developers on physical database structures for multi-terabyte sized databases; and contribute ideas to improve upon technology solutions. In performing duties, use knowledge of relational database administration, UNIX or Windows Server operating systems, shell scripting, SQL and SQL programming languages. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field plus 2 years post Bachelor’s experience of progressively responsible experience in relational database administration using SQL. 2 years of experience in one variety of UNIX or Windows Server operating systems. 2 years of experience working with enterprise database backup and enterprise database management software and logical/physical modeling concepts. 1 year of experience in shell scripting OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in relational database administration using SQL. 5 years of experience in one variety of UNIX or Windows Server operating systems. 5 years of experience working with enterprise database backup and enterprise database management software and logical/physical modeling concepts. 1 year of experience in shell scripting.
