




Summary: Independently responsible for administering, configuring, and maintaining critical databases across multiple data centers in a highly available heterogeneous environment. Highlights: 1. Research and deploy novel data-centric technologies Independently responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and deployment of proprietary, real-time business critical and decision support databases spread across multiple different data centers throughout the United States in a highly available heterogeneous environment; collaborate with systems engineers, developers, database administrators, and business users to share ideas and recommendations for solutions that improve and expand our database environment; independently install, configure and upgrade database software to ensure a stable database environment capable of meeting ongoing business needs; engage in SQL performance tuning to optimize performance; independently monitor, investigate, and solve database performance issues; independently repair and regenerate historical data as well as develop novel solutions and/or plans to recover from unique production problems; coordinate efforts across teams to resolve production issues, manage changes to existing databases, and deploy new databases for existing or new applications; evaluate and research new Database Topology to meet changing business needs; remediate Database Topology issues; balance data loads in the environment to accommodate changes in application performance; develop, support, and operate scripted data refreshes and data archiving; and independently research, deploy, and support other data-centric technologies including: Gigaspaces, MongoDB, Informatica, and InfluxDB; train junior members of the team; maintain and develop reports using a variety of tools including (but not limited to) PL/SQL, SSRS, HIVE, SparkSQL; and maintain and develop Linux shell scripts. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. 2 years of experience creating and working with databases including SQL or Oracle; with Windows or Linux OS; working on databases with multiple terabytes of data and at least 50 million records. 2 years of relational database administration experience; and 2 years of experience using SQL and shell scripting programing languages.
