Apply Now Description The Leidos Digital Modernizion Sector currently has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to work in a high-profile dacenter in Suitland, Maryland. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership and support in the areas of IT planning, solution specificion/design, implemention and target architecture development for the AFNCR Consolided Communicion Center (CCC). The Engineer will support the 844th Communicions Group Joint Base Andrews (JBA). This role includes supporting the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF) customers on both NIPRNet and SIPRNet domains for the development of the CCC building. Primary Responsibilities: Develop detailed network designs and architectures th align with Department of Defense (DoD) standards. Install, configure, and troubleshoot network appliances (routers, switches, and firewalls). Collabore with procurement teams to identify and source network hardware and software th meet project specificions. Conduct thorough testing of network systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues th arise during installion and testing phases. Maintain accure documention of network configurions, installions, and changes. Develop and upde network diagrams and other relevant technical documents. Work closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users. Stay upded on DoD policies and best practices reled to network security and design. Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure and da. Document and enforce network hardware standards and configurion. Manage and maintain IP addressing schema. Provide transparent and regular stus updes in requested form. Basic Qualificions: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Active DoD Secret clearance. Expert knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs). Expert knowledge of enterprise network design principles and networking technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Strong knowledge of three-layer spine/leaf architecture. Strong knowledge of protocols, security standards, and design principles for OSI Layers 1-4. Experience with installion and configurion of physical networking equipment and Local Area Networks (LANs). Experience with the design and deployment of Wide Area Networks (WANs) using Virtual Prive Networking (VPN) technologies. Experience in interpreting and contextualizing network management and troubleshooting tools and technologies, such as ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to build and maintain relionships, partnerships and external networks. Ability to work independently, and work effectively in a collaborive team environment while keeping the team informed. Excellent customer facing skills. Excellent researching, decision-making and organizional skills are required. Excellent written and verbal communicion skills. Proven analytical, evaluive, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Visio. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to da protection and other guidelines where approprie. Required Certificions: Advanced networking certificions such as (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+). Desired Skills and Certs: Experience with Nutanix. Experience with cloud networking and virtualizion technologies.
