Looking for my replacement (Orange Park)

Summary: Seeking a versatile IT professional for a well-documented network, ideal for someone seeking a less corporate environment and team-oriented work. Highlights: 1. Collaborative and team-focused environment Fellow IT seniors, I have a good gig working part time 9 am-3pm Tuesday – Thursday. That’s 18 hours per week on site. I’ve been in IT my entire adult life and its been good to me. I have handled this network since 1991 off and on (more on than off), but I am 61 and can collect social security on Sept 1st 2026 so I plan to fully retire. Owner of the company I am working for asked me to help find my replacement. You could say I am the Network engineer, but I do it all. We have 2 production servers running a handful of vm’s that cross replicate. This is not automatic failover. Two other servers that contribute to backups. There are 10 workstation here and 3 of those seats are empty. The fourth is me and I only here part time. You would not inherit a nightmare. Everything is operational and documented in OpenDCIM. Sure there are things you can improve on as with any network, so there always something to do. For someone like me who is very skilled this is very easy work. Someone learning the ropes may be in over their head a bit, but if you got the eye of the tiger as I call it then you are trainable. The ideal person would be someone like me who is close to retirement and wants out of big corporate. Someone looking for ANY work in IT. Someone self employed that could stand to pick up more work and most important since this is on site, someone close to NE Florida. It would be important that you don’t create friction and are able to get along with everyone. It’s a team effort here and if you can’t be part of the team then you won’t likely make it.
