This role involves managing Social Security or SSI benefits for beneficiaries, focusing on client needs and budget management through phone, email, and some in-person interactions.

A representative payee is a person that the Social Security Administration appoints to receive the Social Security or SSI benefits for anyone who can’t manage or direct the management of their benefits. A payee’s main duties are to use the benefits to pay for the current and future needs of the beneficiary. The majority of your contact with clients will be via phone, some in person contact with clients may also be required at our office. You will work in a small office with 4 other individuals.
Job duties:
• Daily processing of client requests for extra funds via phone, email or text
• Managing client budgets annually or when needed due to change in client situation
• Answering phones is a primary duty, volume depends on time of month
• Interacting with clients, their support staff, landlords, other state/federal agencies
• Experience with Microsoft QuickBooks software
• Processing daily mail for clients’ expenses and notices from Social Security
• Monthly processing of clients’ expenses for coming month
• Miscellaneous internal report processing
• Scanning of client documents onto a internal server
• Updating Social Security of client change in status
• Miscellaneous office tasks i.e. filing, envelope postage
• Process clients’ transactions in multiple systems. Via computer based software and internet based platforms.
• Large amount of data entry on multiple sources
• Keep client information up to date on multiple documents
