Be part of building a new, expanding local business Management Trainee — Asher’s Appliances SE Portland, OR | Full Time | $18 to $20/hr + Bonuses + Commission Asher’s Appliances is a brand new locally owned appliance store opening on SE 82nd Avenue in Portland this April. We carry the same brands you find at any big box store — Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE — for half the price. And we are building something bigger than one store. We are looking for our first hire and we are looking for the right person, not just a warm body. This role is for someone who wants to grow into a leader, not just clock in and clock out. THE PATH Stage 1 — Learn the floor. You will learn every aspect of how Asher’s operates from the ground up. Sales, inventory, customer relationships, delivery, floor layout and daily operations. Stage 2 — Manage the floor. Once you know the business you will take ownership of daily operations, train new team members and run the store in our absence. Stage 3 — Run the store. As we scale toward a second location, the person who built Store 1 with us is the obvious candidate to lead it or the next one. WHAT YOU WILL DO ∙ Help customers find the right appliance at the right price ∙ Build relationships with property managers, landlords and contractors in the area ∙ Receive and unload inventory deliveries ∙ Arrange and maintain the showroom floor ∙ Move and stage appliances safely using proper equipment ∙ Represent Asher’s every day with energy and professionalism WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ∙ Bilingual Spanish speaker, strongly preferred and paid accordingly ∙ Sales experience in retail, appliances or any role where you have closed a deal ∙ Comfortable with physical work. This job involves lifting and moving appliances ∙ Someone who takes pride in how they treat people ∙ Ambitious, reliable and ready to build something WHAT YOU WILL EARN ∙ $18 to $20/hr based on experience and bilingual ability ∙ Monthly store performance bonus starting month 3. When the store wins, you win ∙ 15% commission on any B2B accounts you personally bring in including property managers, contractors and realtors ∙ Realistic year one total of $40,000 to $50,000+ depending on performance ∙ Pay increases tied to progression through the management track SCHEDULE Flexible hours within our store hours of 10am to 7pm, Monday through Saturday.
