Focus on problem-solving and independent work Store Safe is seeking a dependable, organized and motivated SELF STORAGE MANAGER to take primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our Baton Rouge self-storage facility. This is a hands-on management position, not a large corporate property-management role. You will work directly with customers, supervise facility staff, handle administrative responsibilities and take ownership of the daily operation of the property. The position is primarily based at our Baton Rouge location but will also involve supporting our senior manager with our Gonzales facility, generally 1–2 days per week when needed, as well as assisting with administrative responsibilities that cover both properties. We are looking for someone who can take ownership, prioritize effectively, solve problems and follow through without needing constant direction. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the day-to-day operation of the Baton Rouge facility. Supervise and support facility staff. Assist customers with rentals, payments, account questions and other needs. Handle customer concerns professionally and work to resolve issues. Follow up on delinquent accounts and assist with collections. Help drive rentals and occupancy through good customer service and sales follow-up. Maintain accurate customer records, reports and administrative information. Monitor move-ins, move-outs, occupancy and facility activity. Help ensure the office and property remain clean, organized, secure and professionally presented. Identify maintenance or property issues and coordinate with maintenance staff or outside vendors when necessary. Assist with vendor coordination and operational projects. Support our senior manager with administrative responsibilities covering both Store Safe locations. Work at our Gonzales facility approximately 1–2 days per week when needed and provide additional coverage when required. Help ensure company procedures are followed consistently at both locations. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously been responsible for a location, department, small team or similar operation. Self-storage experience is helpful but is NOT required. Relevant experience may come from retail management, hospitality, rental businesses, office management, property management or other customer-facing operations. The right candidate should: Have previous supervisory, management or assistant-management experience. Be dependable and comfortable working independently. Be able to prioritize several things happening at once. Communicate professionally with customers and employees. Have strong follow-through and attention to detail. Be comfortable handling customer-service and collections situations. Be comfortable using computers, email and business software. Have experience with administrative work such as reports, scheduling, customer accounts, spreadsheets or similar responsibilities. Be willing and able to work at both our Baton Rouge and Gonzales locations when required. Have reliable transportation. This is a full-time, on-site position.
