Summary: Provide one-on-one non-medical care, companionship, and support to clients with developmental disabilities, encouraging their goals and objectives in the community. Highlights: 1. Duties include (but are not limited to): Provide one-on-one non-medical care to for clients while in the community. · Follow the client's Plan of Care which may include, but not limited to the items outlined below: · Provide companionship, conversation, mental stimulation · Provide transportation to community events and appointments · Encourage, exercise, observe, document and report client's goals and objectives in the community. This position is up to 35 hours per week when possible. Time varies depending on client's needs. Requirements: Attained High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Credentials / licenses / certifications: CPR/First Aid, Negative TB Test Months of experience: 6 preferred but not required. Willing to Train Driver's license: D-Private Vehicle class Driver's license endorsements: None Additional skills required: An applicant must have or be able to obtain the following: Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED. Must be able to communicate both verbally and written. Valid Driver's license. Current car insurance Current First Aid/CPR Negative TB test done within the last year. Must pass a federal background check. Must have the Ability to provide skill training, monitoring, supervision and support as indicated in Plan of Care. Direct Support Providers- Day Habilitation Workers/In Home Supports/ Respite provide these services in partnership with families and other team members. Has a strong written/oral communication skill with diverse populations including families, team members and the public.
