Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) is seeking team player with excellent technical skills to join us as Senior Facilities Technician at our Boring, OR campus. You’ll enjoy keeping our buildings and systems in top shape and providing the support that enables us to achieve our daily goals. What you’ll do: • Perform a variety of advanced-level work in one or more of the trades, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC • Perform general-advanced level tasks, repairs, and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, fleet, grounds, and off-site properties • Supervise and mentor less experienced Facilities Technicians regarding work orders, repairs, technical information, and safety protocols • Coordinate projects, including estimating time and material costs, completing paperwork, and supervising work through completion • Maintain inventory, manage vendors, and assist other departments when necessary What you’ll love: • Working on a challenging variety of systems and projects including interesting indoor and outdoor spaces like our offices, kennels, clinics, residences, and commercial kitchen • The chance to make connections and build relationships across multiple departments and locations on our self-contained campus • A generous benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation and sick time, medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement savings plan and more • Training opportunities and assistance in getting and maintaining licenses • A more consistent schedule to help you manage your life • You can bring your dog to work! The qualifications you’ll need: • 4+ years of experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance; some supervisory experience preferred • Proficiency using general power tools, meters, and testing devices • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs., squat, bend, reach, climb ladders, and work on rooftops • Valid driver’s license and insurability at non-risk rates • Great customer service and communication skills • Some weekend, evening, and on-call (24-hour emergency response) work required Guide Dogs for the Blind At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), we believe that everyone deserves to move through the world safely and confidently – to live the life they want to live.
