We’re searching for an enthusiastic candidate to join our Live Exhibits Team. This person will be our herpetology specialist, serving as the primary point person for our reptile and amphibian exhibits while also cross-training to care for fish and aquatic invertebrates. This is a 20-hour-per-week position that can be spread over four or five mornings but will include at least one weekend day.
Animal Keeper is an integral member of the Live Exhibits Team, providing animal husbandry and maintenance for the Sciencenter’s live animal exhibits, and enhancing the guest experience by engaging them with the collection.
TIME COMMITMENT
Part-time (20 hours/week), non-exempt position.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Starting salary is $20.65 hour. Prorated Sciencenter benefits provided.
Note: This position could be combined with the part-time (20 hours/week) Education Program Coordinator position for a full-time 40-hour/week position. Please see the Education Program Coordinator job listing and adjust your application materials accordingly. If the selected candidate applies for and is offered both the Animal Keeper and Education Program Coordinator positions, the wage rate will be the higher of the two wage rates.
