Location: Remote, with the option to work on-site at the Meals on Wheels Central Kitchen in Richland, Washington. Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels is seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian to support the nutritional health and well-being of the older adults we serve. In collaboration with the Meals on Wheels Director, this position plans, reviews, and monitors menus to ensure compliance with federal and Washington State Senior Nutrition Program standards. The Registered Dietitian also provides nutrition education and guidance and supports appropriate dietary modifications to meet the nutritional needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Meals on Wheels Director to develop, review, and approve regular, modified, low-sodium, culturally appropriate, and special-diet menus. Ensure menus meet applicable nutritional standards, nutrient requirements, contract requirements, and federal and Washington State Senior Nutrition Program requirements. Develop and/or approve monthly nutrition education materials, newsletter content, and educational sessions. Coordinate with Service Coordinators to address the nutritional and special dietary needs of home-delivered meal clients. Provide individual nutrition consultation and appropriate referrals to community resources as requested. Maintain required nutrition-related documentation, activity records, and reports. Coordinate with the Washington State Department of Health and other applicable agencies as needed. Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and organizational information. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Credentialing: Must meet all education and credentialing requirements to practice as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) in Washington State. Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential and applicable Washington State certification or credentialing required. Valid Washington State Food Worker Card or ability to obtain within 14 days of employment. Valid Washington State driver’s license and ability to travel using an appropriately insured personal and/or company vehicle. Experience & Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, active listening, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, solve problems, and respond appropriately in routine and unexpected situations. Proficiency with standard computer applications and ability to learn program-specific software. Ability to interact professionally with clients, employees, partners, and community members with tact, diplomacy, respect, and sensitivity. Knowledge of food preparation, food service operations, health and sanitation standards, and special dietary needs preferred. Previous food service and/or supervisory experience preferred. Working Conditions Position may be performed remotely. Individuals who prefer to work on-site may work from the Meals on Wheels Central Kitchen in Richland. Occasional travel to supported sites throughout Benton and Franklin Counties may be required. Work is generally performed during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed. When working on-site, duties may require sitting, standing, walking, driving, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs. May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
