Applicant should: have an associates and certified as alcohol and other drug counselor per Maryland criteria, maintain all professional licenses and certifications, be committed to continued education for professional advancement, utilize counseling skills and strategies in individual and group counseling settings, formulate, revise and update dynamic treatment plans with ongoing counselor notes, present written objectives, goals and strategies in behavioral terms that are observable, measurable and recordable, formulate discharge summary, continuing care plans and determine prognosis, adhere to counselor’s professional code of ethics, individual and group therapy, demonstrate knowledge and perform 12 core functions of professional counselors, attend case management sessions and implementation of resultant therapeutic interventions.
