Assist with facility support and rapid response cleanup The Cleaning Utility Person is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall aesthetic appeal of the facility. Unlike a standard janitor, this multi-functional role handles both routine cleaning and heavy-duty, specialized maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will operate floor care machinery, handle waste management systems, respond to immediate spill cleanup requests, and assist with room setups or heavy lifting as needed to support daily operations. Looking for 2 People, shift to be from 5pm - 11pm Monday - Friday, weekends as needed for special requests, flexible schedule may be needed depending on ownership and tenant requests. Key Responsibilities Heavy-Duty Floor Care: Operate commercial floor scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors to clean, wax, strip, and polish a variety of flooring surfaces. Waste & Recycling Management: Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and biohazard waste from all designated areas. Safely operate trash compactors and balers, and ensure dumpster areas are clean and compliant. Deep Cleaning & Sanitation: Execute scheduled deep-cleaning projects, including wall washing, high-dusting, window cleaning, and intensive restroom restoration. Rapid Response & Spill Cleanup: Act as the primary contact for immediate cleanup requests, hazardous spills, and emergency cleaning situations to ensure a safe environment for occupants. Restocking & Inventory: Monitor, organize, and restock cleaning supply closets. Notify management when chemical or equipment inventories run low. Facility Support & Setups: Assist with moving heavy furniture, setting up rooms for events, conferences, or meetings, and tearing down equipment afterward. Outdoor Maintenance: Maintain exterior cleanliness near building entrances, including emptying outdoor trash bins, sweeping walkways, and performing minor snow/ice removal during winter months. Equipment Care: Safely operate, clean, and perform basic preventative maintenance on all assigned janitorial power equipment. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or corporate facility maintenance. Equipment Knowledge: Proven experience operating commercial floor care machinery (buffers, scrubbers, extractors) is highly preferred. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including continuous walking, standing, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Safety & Chemical Literacy: Understanding of safe chemical handling practices, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and familiarity with OSHA Hazard Communication standards (SDS sheets). Work Ethic: Strong time-management skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness. Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends, depending on facility needs.
