I have caused way more trauma in my own life than anybody else ever could have. And yet, at times, I wrongly still blame others for my actions and behaviors. That right there is some stinkin' thinkin'! It goes like this: I am justified in making this poor decision because I was hurt in the past, and because I was hurt, I am now a certain kind of way, and this is how people who were hurt act. Then I go and do dumb and receive consequences that hurt me. How ridiculous! At no point do I stop and take personal responsibility for my choices. Why would I, that doesn't allow me to continue making bad decisions in good conscience. Stop the blame cycle, be accountable, and start to work on your hurt. Walk through the pain, process it, and heal. That is what we do every Thursday at 6 pm, at The House Church, 2024 Rahn Way, Eagan. It is a faith-based recovery support group.
