How Do You Check on an Aging Parent Without Using Cameras?
Description
Many adult children want to make sure their aging parents are safe at home, but not every family is comfortable with indoor cameras. Some older adults feel cameras invade their privacy, while others simply don't want to feel like they're being watched in their own home. I'm curious what solutions other families have found helpful. Have you used: • Daily check-in phone calls? • Smart speakers or voice assistants? • Medication reminders? • Neighbor check-ins? • Medical alert systems? • Motion sensors or door sensors? What has worked well for your family, and what didn't? There are so many families trying to balance safety, independence, and privacy for aging parents, and it would be great to hear real experiences from others in the community.
