IIoT QA Internship (Downtown Vancouver)

Description

Summary: This role involves learning software, performing QA, writing test procedures, maintaining test automation frameworks, analyzing code for bugs, and collaborating with development teams. Collaborate with development team on identifying and resolving bugs Responsibilities: * Learn the software created at Cirrus Link Solutions * Performing QA test procedures and reporting results to development * Writing automated and manual software test procedures and test software * Updating, improving and maintaining internal test automation framework * Analyze logs and code (mostly Java) to come to conclusions about product behavior and potential bugs * Work with the development team in identifying and reporting bugs * Validate tasks and issues completed by the dev team Requirements: * Strong attention to detail * Organized with good troubleshooting skills * Polite and professional communication style, even if under pressure * Being flexible when priorities and plans change due to unforeseen circumstances * Works well in a distributed team - this position is in-office only but we have a team out of state as well * Strong TCP/IP networking background * Strong background in Microsoft Office * Familiarity with distributed/networked systems * Java experience or other OO programming language experience Knowledge/experience with any of the following a plus: * MQTT * MQTT Sparkplug * Git, Maven, and Jenkins * Industrial protocols (such as Modbus, Canbus, EFM protocols, HART, BACnet, etc) * IIoT * Linux OS and/or Windows OS * C/C++/Python/C#/Shell Scripting/Power Shell * Raspberry Pi and/or other embedded platforms * Google Protocol Buffers * Network Security * Jira and Confluence * Cloud Platform and Cloud Deployment Experience (such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Watson, etc) Education and Experience Required: * In at least third (junior) year of a four year degree program for an IT related field * Previous internships or IT related job experience a plus Position Location & Type: * Downtown Vancouver, WA USA * Reporting to the office is required * 3 month term with extension possible (length of term is negotiable) Additional opportunities (based on experience and performance over time): * Developing software and fixing product bugs * Create and maintain customer facing and internal support documentation * Provide tier-two customer technical support on customer issues Compensation: $28 per/hr with no additional benefits
