Protecting public health and safeguarding brand integrity Quality Control Associate Department: Quality Assurance / Food Safety Reports To: Plant Manager Location: USDA-Inspected Facility Position Summary: This is a part to full-time on-site role for a Quality Control Associate located in Sumner, WA. The Quality Control Associate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting quality control tests, analyzing data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to quality assurance protocols. The individual will also document findings, identify potential issues, and communicate quality-related information effectively with the team. The Quality Control (QC) Associate is responsible for ensuring Ready-To-Eat (RTE) products and raw and intact and non-intact products are produced, handled, and documented in compliance with USDA-FSIS regulations, HACCP requirements, and company food safety standards. This role supports daily production by monitoring critical control points, verifying sanitation and documentation, and preventing product contamination or regulatory non-compliance. This position plays a critical role in protecting public health, maintaining regulatory compliance, and safeguarding brand integrity. Qualifications Proven expertise in Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes Strong Analytical Skills for problem-solving and decision-making Proficiency in Laboratory Skills, including testing and use of relevant equipment Effective Communication skills for reporting, collaborating, and conveying findings clearly Attention to detail and ability to work in a structured environment Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred, but on the job, experience is OK Experience in food manufacturing or a similar industry is advantageous USDA experience a plus, HACCP training required Compensation: $25.00/hr.
