Ensure DoD policy and security standards compliance Apply Now Description The Decision Advantage Business Area Leidos is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a fast-paced program with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The ideal candide will possess extensive experience in network engineering, a strong understanding of DoD IT requirements, and proven leadership skills. You will support the deployment of managed services, workstions, and networks, ensuring compliance with DoD policies and security standards. In addition, they will collabore with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and transle them into technical solutions. The Senior Network Engineer will be an integral member of the Network team, collaboring on stregic initiives and ensuring alignment with overall program goals. This position the candide to be local and able to work on-site our locion in Lorton, VA Primary Responsibilities: Develop detailed network designs and architectures th align with Department of Defense (DoD) standards. Collabore with procurement teams to identify and source network hardware and software th meet project specificions. Oversee the installion and configurion of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers. Conduct thorough testing of network systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues th arise during installion and testing phases. Maintain accure documention of network configurions, installions, and changes. Develop and upde network diagrams and other relevant technical documents. Work closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users. Stay upded on DoD policies and best practices reled to network security and design. Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure and da. By personal example, set the tone and direction for moral and ethical leadership. Basic Qualificions: US Citizen with least an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a SCI prior to your start de with Leidos. Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Expert knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs). Expert knowledge of enterprise network design principles and networking technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Expert knowledge of networking hybrid cloud architectures, especially to the Azure Cloud. Strong knowledge of protocols, security standards, and design principles for OSI Layers 1-4. Experience with installion and configurion of physical networking equipment and Local Area Networks (LANs). Experience with the design and deployment of Wide Area Networks (WANs) using Virtual Prive Networking (VPN) technologies. Experience in interpreting and contextualizing network management and troubleshooting tools and technologies, such as ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualificions: US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance. Advanced networking certificions (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+). Experience with cloud networking and virtualizion technologies. Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g.,  ServiceNow) Previous experience working with federal government or military customers. If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
