Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement Apply Now Description Our customer, the Defense Informion Systems Agency (DISA), provides, operes, and assures command and control of the Defense Informion System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and nional security organizions. This position directly supports the DISA-provided capabilities and services. The Leidos Digital Modernizion Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operions II (GSMO-II) contract has an opening for a Network Performance & Reliability Engineer II MacDill AFB, FL.  The Network Engineer will perform  sustainment, performance, maintenance, Problem and Change management services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the Department of Defense networks. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance to start. Responsible for assisting with the following duties: • Maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot dabases and da ingestion scripts. • Assist da engineers with quality control of da, da collection processes, and testing/implementing da collection and process improvements • Aid senior team members in supporting GSMO Program driven Innovions development, integrion, and continuous improvement by leveraging, maintaining, and in the creion/maintenance of various tools. • Perform engineering tasks reled to the design, performance management/analysis, implemention, and integrion of network changes and sustainment of customer systems in an Wide Area Network environment. • Conduct planning and performance of analytical research, design development, and other tasks to align with customer specificions. • Control network systems & tools to ensure 99% or better system uptime and connectivity. • Provide ad-hoc engineering support, stistics/da ghering, modeling, creing/upding flowcharts and providing forecasts based on trending analysis  based on Engineering documents and experience. • Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeable processes. • Mitige risks, control costs and schedule variance, and effectively manage large scale, integred projects. • Perform a variety of analytical tasks which include hardware and software design and implemention. Basic Qualificions: • Experience with coding in languages including but not limited to Expect, Python, SQL, and/or Perl • Currently possess DoD 8750 certificion IAT level II, Security+ CE or equivalent to meet requirement. • Experience with Kibana, Service Now,  SQL, Web development, Python, UI UX, or Dabases. • Experience working with large sets of da from either service provider or enterprise networks. • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and/or configuring IP or Transport Network technologies. • Experience with ports and protocols. • Experience analyzing network KPIs, VLAN, routing, IP addressing and sub-netting and/or Exposure to troubleshooting, assessment, root cause analysis, and restorion of Optical networks • Experience with IP or Transport Technology. • Currently possess an active DoD Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualificions: • Familiarizion of DOD regulions and directives. • Python, Pearl or other language scripting capable of pull informion from Cisco/Juniper routers and other network devices. • Proficient in the tools Service Now and/or Kibana is a plus • Physical cable plant and wiring experience. • Certificions with major vendors such as Cisco, Elastic, or ITIL4  are a strong plus. • Excellent project, technical, interpersonal, presention, Performance analytics,  and problem management skills. • Extensive network integrion experience for a variety of network protocol standards. • Ability to communice orally, and in writing, detailed technical informion on troubleshooting and implemention efforts. • Experience with Cisco IOS XR, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS codes. • IPSEC configurion & troubleshooting experience. • MPLS configurion & troubleshooting experience. •CIENA 6500 configurion & troubleshooting experience. •CISCO 4200 configurion & troubleshooting experience. •CISCO NCS2K configurion & troubleshooting experience. . • Proficient in Ciena,  Cisco, and/or Juniper configurion, troubleshooting, and design. Required Educion and Experience: Requires BS degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.  Specific experience, educion and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
