Develop and design product prototypes with hands-on design work required Create and update technical drawings/3d files for production Create and update CMF documents Evaluate design concepts through user testing and iterate based on feedback Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for production Collaborate with marketing to ensure that product designs align with target customer needs Stay informed on emerging design trends and techniques within the industry Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience in product design, preferably in the automotive/consumer product/footwear industry Basic understanding of core mechanical engineering principles Design for Manufacturing experience (Injection molding, casting, machining) Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Design, etc.) 3D Modeling (Parametric CAD - Solidworks, Fusion 360, etc.) 3D Rendering (Blender, Keyshot, Maya, Rhino, etc.) Sketching/Whiteboarding (efficiently explaining ideas) Ability to build low-fidelity prototypes and an understanding of production methods and prototyping processes Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment A portfolio demonstrating your design process and product design abilities is required Benefits Opportunities for participation in our Employee Options programs 401K retirement plan Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Massive Growth Opportunities and a long-term career Incredible work environment

The Fire Sprinkler Designer shall have the ability to produce fire protection design drawings and calculations for permitting and construction for various types of projects including storage occupancies, healthcare, assemblies, mercantile facilities, etc. Proficiency using AutoSprink and coordination using BIM (Navisworks) is required. The ideal candidate will be NICET level 3 in Water-Based System Layout. Is able to work independently with minimal supervision from the Firetrol Protection Systems Design Manager. Designs fire protection systems utilizing architect generated dimensions and structural backgrounds. Identifies and resolves all elements affecting coordination and communicates any outstanding issues. Performs hydraulic calculations as required. Completes stock listing for fabrication shop as required. Reviews all design drawings in detail before fabrication. Coordinates with the Design Manager on drawing schedules in conjunction with operations for permit and fabrication schedule. Reviews all design documents prior to submittal for permit and architect/engineer review. Attends project meetings and jobsite visits, as needed. Performs site surveys as required. Documents and advises all parties of any discrepancies, unclear intent or missing information that will affect coordination or design intent. Communicates with the field foremen throughout the design process, making notes of any necessary changes made as a result of coordination. Reviews submittals for size, quantity and design to ensure they meet engineer requirements, will fit in available space, and are compatible with equipment purchased from other vendors. Requirements Minimum 5 years fire protection design experience in fire protection systems. BIM (Navisworks) experience required. Texas NICET Level 3 a plus. Must be familiar with NFPA 13, 14, 20, 22 and FM Global Standards. Technical understanding of Fire Sprinkler Design including Wet, Dry, Preaction, and Deluge type systems. We are currently seeking a Fire Alarm and Security Designer to join our team of over 1,100 of the best fire protection and security professionals in the industry. This opportunity will be in office, in our San Antonio, TX location. CAD Designer Responsibilities: Communicate technical concepts to sales reps, operations team, and customers. Design and layout of Fire Alarm systems in AutoCAD per code requirements. The layout of Access Control systems in AutoCAD per code requirements. Build equipment submittals. Help and assist with pre-construction and job management. Evaluate design work loads and manage sub-contract design team projects. Other duties as assigned by manager. Requirements To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of required codes. Ability and willingness to engage with local AHJ’s to discuss local code requirements. Self-starter without need for oversight. Strong analytical skills. Strong work ethic with a positive attitude.
