Our partner organization is seeking a Manager, Development to lead and execute signature fundraising events across the Seattle, WA metro area. This remote role plays a vital part in advancing the mission to support individuals and families affected by ALS through fundraising, outreach, and community engagement. The Manager will work closely with the Director of Development and a collaborative development team to drive successful event outcomes aligned with organizational goals. Responsibilities Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to achieve a minimum revenue goal of $500,000 through three major events annually. Support the recruitment, engagement, and retention of honorary chairs, event committees, and community stakeholders. Conduct outreach to sponsors and donors through meetings, calls, and emails; ensure all sponsorship benefits are fulfilled in accordance with partnership agreements. Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute communication strategies and coordinate production of promotional materials. Ensure events align with organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Track and analyze event performance weekly and collaborate on strategies to drive attendance and revenue growth. Manage event budgets; perform reconciliation of projections versus actual expenses. Attend key events, team meetings, and territory-wide functions, including occasional overnight travel within the assigned region. Partner with service teams to incorporate voices of individuals and families impacted by ALS into fundraising and awareness initiatives. Contribute to a multi-state development strategy as part of a cooperative and mission-driven team. Provide additional support for fundraising and mission goals as needed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (preferred). At least 2 years of experience in event planning and fundraising. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals, including staff, volunteers, and donors. Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and volunteer committee leadership (preferred). Familiarity with managing walk teams and corporate partnerships (preferred but not required). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools. Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce and fundraising platforms like Luminate Online (preferred). Based in the historic and thriving multi-ethnic Chinatown International District (CID) of Seattle, the IE aspires to be a credible catalyst for building an inspiring, connected, well-respected, and socially conscious Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander American (ANHPIA) community. Our mission is to promote critical thinking, dialogue, and action by providing timely, accurate, and culturally sensitive coverage of relevant ANHPIA matters. POSITION SUMMARY The Development Manager will oversee the organization’s fundraising and manage donor relationships across individuals, groups, nonprofits, businesses, and corporations. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing fundraising events, engaging donors to grow and sustain support, and seeking out new opportunities through grants and sponsorships. Propose and help produce other events as needed to encourage long-term donor cultivation. Grant Writing (15%) Research and identify new grant opportunities Collaborate with the team to prepare and submit grant proposals Donor Information Management (10%) Manage the CRM (client relationship management) system, Little Green Light. Organize and maintain accurate donor and funding database records. Ensure donors receive annual tax letters. Develop tracking tools and monitor monthly progress. External Relations (10%) Network at select community and leadership events. Present programs to various community and corporate groups as needed. Other (15%) Work with the Editor-in-Chief and managers on cross-projects and issues. Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings. Participate in professional development opportunities.
