Work autonomously and solve problems under tight timelines Drone Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer Location: Seattle, WA 98108 Schedule: M–F onsite daily | Possible weekends | ~40 hrs/week Travel: Up to 10% Requirements: MVR and Drug Test required We are seeking an experienced Drone Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer to support high-pace flight test operations. This role is responsible for designing, managing, and operating flight test instrumentation systems that capture and deliver critical flight data. Key Responsibilities: • Design, configure, and operate flight test instrumentation systems end-to-end • Integrate sensors and data recording modules with aircraft systems • Develop flight test plans and instrumentation strategies to meet engineering data requirements • Monitor systems during flight operations and ensure data quality • Retrieve, validate, and deliver recorded data to engineering teams • Troubleshoot system issues and continuously improve data collection processes • Support documentation, SOP creation, and vendor coordination Required Technical Skills: • Flight test sensor integration and data reduction • GNSS/DGNSS systems setup • Electrical power systems and fault injection • Environmental testing standards (DO-160G) • CAD software proficiency • Ability to review test objectives and generate instrumentation plans to support required data collection Ideal Candidate: • Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced test environment • Able to work autonomously and solve problems under tight timelines • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables • Willing to travel and work flexible hours as needed
