Summary: This Janitor position on 2nd shift is responsible for directly cleaning, maintaining, and supplying designated facility areas, including production and offices, and working on special projects. Highlights: 1. Perform general cleaning duties in production, office, and common areas. 2. Responsible for maintaining VCT tiles, including stripping and waxing. 3. Assist in examining facilities for hazards and performing minor repairs. Leading medical device components manufacturer has an immediate need for a Janitor on 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30 pm, Mon-Fri). This position is responsible for directly cleaning, maintaining, and supplying designated facility areas, including production and offices. The Janitor is also responsible for working on special projects within the facilities department. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES • Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in production, office, and common areas, including restrooms and locker rooms. • Performs general cleaning and Janitorial work, including—but not limited to—dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restocking, and cleaning ceiling vents. • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, locker rooms, and breakrooms. • Responsible for all VCT tiles being periodically re-surfaced, stripped, or scrubbed and applying new wax. • Performs minor repairs and maintenance, such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes. • Ensure plastic bottles and aluminum cans are collected and taken to the designated recycling area. • Ensure all recyclable trash is collected and sorted from all areas of the facility, including, but not limited to, paper, plastic, and cardboard boxes. Cardboard boxes are flattened to dispose of in the recycling container. • Performs window cleaning, including but not limited to windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. • Assist in examining the facility for hazards and/or repairs and reporting any deficiencies to the Facilities Supervisor and/or the Facilities and Maintenance Manager. • Assist with machine clean-outs as needed • Follow environmental, health, and safety protocols and procedures. • Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE (TECHNICAL/ PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPETENCY) Minimum 2 years of janitorial experience Ability to read and interpret documents in English Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds Ability to stand and walk frequently Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently Ability to interact with staff and visitors in a professional, polite, and courteous manner Able to understand and follow directions Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm.
