About the Role: The Lawn & Garden Dry Goods Specialist provides expert product guidance, supports customer projects, and drives sales in a fast-paced retail environment. This role serves as the in-store expert on dry goods and irrigation products, helping customers and staff alike. Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to): * Provide expert guidance to retail customers on lawn and garden dry goods and irrigation products * Drive sales by engaging customers and recommending solutions * Serve as the expert resource for irrigation systems and parts * Ask diagnostic questions to understand customer needs and recommend products effectively * Actively sell irrigation components, controllers, valves, drip systems, pumps, and smart tech * Interpret irrigation plans, layouts, and controller programming needs * Build strong relationships with repeat customers, contractors, and landscapers * Train and mentor staff on product knowledge * Assist with sales transactions and customer service at registers * Maintain a clean and professional sales floor Requirements: *5+ years’ experience selling lawn and garden dry goods products including experience selling irrigation solutions systems and components *Deep knowledge of lawn and garden dry goods products, including irrigation systems and components, with demonstrated ability to share accurate knowledge in a customer friendly manner *Proven retail sales experience with a strong customer-service mindset *Willingness to recommend store products vs “home” remedies *Ability to communicate technical information to customers and co-workers in a clear, approachable manner *Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced retail environment *Irrigation certification(s) such as IA Certified Irrigation Technician or Designer ideal *Experience working with contractors or professional landscape clients preferred *Passionate about engaging with customers and sharing knowledge with others *Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays Hours & Shift: This is a part-time position scheduled during our highest customer traffic times. Employees can expect to work 4-5 hour shifts between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with some weekend availability, and average 20-25 hours per week depending on the time of year. Compensation: The Lawn & Garden Dry Goods Specialist position is hourly, non-exempt, with a wage range of $23.00 – $30.00 per hour. How to Apply: 📩Submit your resume with your application.
