Opportunity to care for property and work independently POSITION DESCRIPTION Looking for an experienced, hands‐on Farmer to oversee our wheat/hay operation in South West Whitman County. Responsible for running operations on wheat farming, cattle, hay, and pastures. Must be trustworthy, have good communication skills, be self‐motivated and able to work independently, able to make minor repairs as needed, operate and service heavy equipment, work in various weather conditions, and care for the property as their own. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS‐ Property and Equipment Manage all aspects of farming, overseeing ground preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization and coordination of harvesting. Operate and maintain in‐ground field irrigation system. Fence construction, repair, and maintenance. Planning and overseeing ranch projects. Maintain roads and property. Minor maintenance and servicing of ranch equipment, vehicles, and facilities. Heavy equipment operation and servicing (quadtracs, T-tracks, hay balers, swather, seed drills, sprayers, etc..) QUALIFICATIONS -quality experience is a must. -must be physically fit enough to perform all duties. -must be able to run or quickly learn GPS systems and precision farming systems. -must have prior farming experience related to position. WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS Schedules may entail working long hours during harvest season, and working on weekends at times. Must be flexible to work outside of normal operating hours.
