Part Time Security/Event Staff (Park Blocks)

Summary: This part-time Event Staff position supports events and concerts at Sanctuary Hall, involving setup, ushering, and light post-event custodial duties. Highlights: 1. Support a variety of events and concerts in a dynamic venue. 2. Engage with community members and event attendees. 3. Opportunity to learn and operate audio equipment. First Congregational UCC Portland and Sanctuary Hall are looking for a part time event staff that can set up, support, and facilitate events and larger concerts through our venue, Sanctuary Hall. This includes potentially setting up tables/chairs/microphone/projectors, ushering/box office work, being helpful to other event staff and attendees of events, and light custodial duties post event. This is a very part time position that is responsible for basic custodial tasks, security and setup for events, and most hours offered would be evenings and weekends. Essential Job Functions: - Maintain effective working relationships with congregation members, staff, ministers, community members, etc. - Consistent and effective communication. - Basic cleaning and operating cleaning equipment. - Set up and tear down tables, chairs, large fencing, and any other furniture needed for events or weekly Sunday service. - Ability to learn basic operation of church audio equipment, setting up mics, etc. - Conduct oneself in the best interest of the church, its members, staff, and public. Required Qualifications: - Must have high school degree or equivalent based on education and experience. - Must have work experience with custodial responsibility. - Must have ability to do basic cleaning. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and with teams. - Ability to work with flexible schedule times. - Must have experience working security; DPSST certification a huge plus. Working Conditions: - Interior facility environment with some outdoor responsibilities. Repeated standing, walking, carrying, lifting, and occasionally using a ladder. Ability to climb stairs and move about a renovated church building which has limited accessibility for someone not fully able.
