Ensure regulatory compliance and identify process improvements Accounting Manager – Real Estate Firm A fast-paced real estate company is looking for an experienced, self-motivated and driven Accounting Manager to oversee a wide range of financial and accounting functions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and coordination of financial reports with an external accounting firm Manage all accounts payable and receivable activities, including daily processing of broker commission payments Oversee both company finances and select personal financial matters for the President Compile and maintain records needed for quarterly and annual tax reporting Process payroll for a small team (3–5 employees) using QuickBooks Online Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the general ledger and supporting schedules Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements to company leadership Track corporate, franchise & brokerage license renewals and confirm ongoing regulatory compliance Process commission calculations and maintain escrow/trust account compliance (we don’t have trust account) Monitor budgets, review expenses, and support forecasting and planning efforts Respond to management requests for financial information and analysis Handle confidential financial data with professionalism and discretion Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting responsibilities Prior experience in real estate accounting strongly preferred Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Thorough understanding of GAAP, journal entries, and financial statement analysis Background managing both business and personal financial matters Self-directed, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
