Location: Richmond, Michigan Job Type: Full-Time About Us Richmond Recycling Inc. is a fast-paced scrap metal recycling facility built on hard work, safety, and efficiency. We process a wide range of materials while maintaining a clean, organized yard and delivering top service to our customers. Position Overview The Yard Associate is a key team member responsible for supporting daily yard operations. This role includes material sorting, customer assistance, general labor, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This is a hands-on, physically active position in an outdoor industrial setting. Key Responsibilities Assist with sorting and processing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials Help customers unload materials safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and work areas Support equipment operators and yard managers as needed Identify and separate materials for proper grading and processing Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Perform general labor tasks including lifting, sweeping, and organizing materials Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues Provide friendly, professional customer service Qualifications 1+ year of experience in general labor, construction, recycling, or industrial work preferred Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Basic understanding of safety practices Pass pre-employment screening, health assessment and drug screen Preferred Experience Scrap metal or recycling yard experience Knowledge of ferrous vs. non-ferrous materials Forklift or equipment experience (a plus, not required) Customer service experience in a hands-on environment What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Health Insurance Overtime opportunities Stable, year-round work On-the-job training and growth opportunities Strong team environment Why Join Richmond Recycling Inc.?
