Opportunity to influence IT strategy and improvements Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on System Administrator to manage, secure, and support our internal IT systems and network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring system reliability, cybersecurity, and minimal downtime across the organization. The ideal candidate will work closely with employees across departments, become familiar with our business practices, and provide practical technology solutions that support daily operations. This is a 100% on-site position. Key Responsibilities: Provide on-site technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and access issues. Administer and maintain company operating systems, servers, workstations, and virtualized environments (VMware). Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, network equipment, printers, phones, mobile devices, and peripherals. Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures; including antivirus, firewalls, VPNs, patch management, monitoring, and access controls. Manage user accounts, permissions, Active Directory, Group Policy, password policies, and system security. Ensure reliable system backups, disaster recovery processes, and data protection. Install, configure, update, and support business applications and internal systems. Monitor system performance, storage, and network resources to ensure stability and efficiency. Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, documentation, and user guides; communicate changes to company employees. Manage hardware and software inventory; coordinate purchasing and vendor relationships. Support custom applications, EDI solutions, and other internal business systems, as needed. Plan and implement system upgrades, patches, migrations, and future technology improvements. Identify opportunities to improve business processes, strengthen security, reduce costs, and increase uptime. Stay current with evolving technologies and cybersecurity threats to recommend effective solutions. Qualifications: Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar IT role. Strong knowledge of operating systems (VAI specifically is a bonus), networking, and system administration. Experience with virtualization (VMware preferred) Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-company environment Willingness to work 100% on-site.
