Transfer Student Advising and Support
Meet with new and transfer students for initial in-depth advising, career planning, and mapping out an initial Student Education Plan (SEP) using the Guided Pathways model.
Instruct transfer students in the transfer process, and maintain comprehensive knowledge of transfer advising resources, including articulation agreements, Transfer Module, Transferology, and other transfer tools.
Interpret and apply Edison's assessment/placement model, including the use of multiple measures, for new and transfer students.
Meet with probation and at-risk students as part of the Student Success Program, collaborating with instructors, faculty advisors, and College resources.
Use Colleague system to verify majors, courses, transfer credit, and other information relative to the advising process.
Document all student encounters utilizing the prescribed advising notation technologies.
Monitor and document students' progress toward their educational goals.
In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of student Affairs implement and assess the early alert process.
Foster student self-advocacy and independence by teaching students how to navigate online systems and processes while connecting them to information and learning opportunities.

BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook tutors are on the front lines of working to close the opportunity gap for K-8 students during a key period of their educational journey.
Our online tutors conduct live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on students on their path to achieving success in Math.
As we near the end of the school year, BookNook is seeking to hire tutors for programs scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2025. We will be reviewing applications on an as-needed basis throughout the summer. Please note that response times will be longer than usual.
