




Controls Engineer – Paper Industry (Plant Construction & Operations) Position Overview We’re seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to lead the design, programming, and commissioning of control systems for a paper manufacturing plant—beginning in construction and continuing through ongoing operations. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement PLC and HMI programs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens) for new and existing paper-machine lines Configure and integrate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) specific to paper-making processes Collaborate with project managers, electrical teams, and contractors to ensure on-time delivery of control solutions Lead capital-project controls scope: define requirements, manage schedules, oversee budgets, and coordinate testing & start-up activities Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians Troubleshoot and optimize control strategies post-commissioning to maximize machine reliability and performance Requirements Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering Extensive hands-on experience with DCS on paper machines (mandatory) Proven PLC and HMI programming expertise with both Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms Strong capital-project management background, including scope definition, scheduling, and cost control Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to guide a multidisciplinary project team Prior experience in the paper manufacturing industry (required) Benefits Why Join Us?
