Position Overview: The Controls Field Service Technician will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical control panels and automation systems at customer sites. This role involves extensive travel (approximately 60%) to customer locations to support equipment startups, provide field service, and ensure optimal system performance. Key Responsibilities: Travel to customer sites using company vehicles to perform startups, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical control panels and systems. Perform hands-on work with electrical systems, including wiring, PLC programming, VFDs, and automation controls. Conduct service calls both onsite and via phone to support customer needs. Perform inspections, testing, and repairs to meet UL(Underwriters Laboratories) and safety standards. Work with pumps and pumping systems, including rotary lobe, diaphragm, and progressive cavity pumps. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand system design and troubleshoot problems effectively. Provide technical support in the areas of automation controls, and industrial equipment. Document service activities and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams. Requirements 3–5 years of field service or electrical controls experience. Associate degree in a technical field, military experience, or equivalent work experience. Strong background in electrical controls and automation. Familiarity with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) standards and certifications to govern controls. Proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, and basic hand tools. Knowledge of pump systems is strongly preferred Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Willingness to travel up to 60%. Key Responsibilities • Manage the design, installation, testing, and turnover of structured cabling, fiber optics, and related low-voltage systems. • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including the general contractor, client representatives, MEP teams, and commissioning agents, to align connectivity requirements with construction milestones. • Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for connectivity scopes, including sequencing with other trades and critical path activities. • Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with client standards. • Support troubleshooting, change management, and risk mitigation related to connectivity infrastructure. • Prepare reports and updates for project leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. • Ensure successful testing, commissioning, and handover of all connectivity systems.
