We are a small architectural practice seeking a Project Architect to join our team. This role involves both hands-on production and project management, working directly with the principal, consultants, and clients on a range of projects including interior and exterior alterations, new buildings, and landmark properties.
Responsibilities:
• Lead projects from schematic design through construction administration
• Prepare and coordinate construction documents
• Manage consultant coordination (MEP, structural, etc.)
• Oversee filing and approval processes with NYC agencies (DOB, LPC, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with NYC Building Code, Zoning Resolution, and ADA requirements
• Coordinate with expeditors and assist with permitting
• Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and consultants
• Support and oversee junior staff as needed
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional experience
• Strong technical and detailing skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
• Working knowledge of NYC Building Code, ADA, and Zoning Regulations
• Experience with NYC filing and expediting processes strongly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a small office environment
