Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training. Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management. Express Technician Responsibilities: Work closely with the Diagnostic Technician; report to the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and Dispatcher. Mount, rotate, balance and change tires. Examine the vehicle to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to Service Advisor. Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain parts. Follow warranty material disposition procedures. Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised. Clearly and accurately document all work performed. Road test vehicles as required, or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate. Only perform work that is authorized by the customer or by the warranty. Inform Service Advisor and Foreman of all work that cannot be finished by the end of the shift. Tire technician responsibilities: Wheel alignments. Tire changes, rotations, and mounting. Quality Control responsibilities: Inspect all work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Mercedes Benz factory and Rallye Mercedes standards. Examine and test-drive all vehicles to ensure that the cause of vehicle malfunctions, and recommend/ perform repairs are completed. Communicate all discrepancies to the Service Manager, Advisor, or technician. Road test vehicles as required, or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate.
