Directly responsible to the General Manager and/or a delegate. Must communicate with all plant production personnel. Functionally responsible for the production and quality of material, including it being packed and inspected as per customer requirements. Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times. This will be done by following Company policies and procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Production Associate are detailed below, but not limited to the following: Responsible for safely and quality of effectively operating all machines within the department: presses, saws, punch press, drilling, tapping, deburring machines and any other additional equipment that may be purchased in the future Racking, un-racking, and inspection of parts through the anodizing line Check the machine condition for any issues and/or mechanical problems prior to starting it Follow work orders and produce parts according to specifications Ensure material is packed in order of priority according to the pack dates indicated on the WIP Report. Confirm weights and counts are correct. Check material for hardness and record the readings in EPICS. If material is not within spec for hardness, it must be red tagged ahead of the pack stage and QA must be notified. Once an order is complete, ensure the correct tagging colors are used based on work order routing. Adherence to work order instructions are critical such as the notes section for specific customer requirements Pack all orders according to the required pack code so that it reaches its final destination intact. Responsible for inputting data into EPICS throughout the run and upon completion of production Required to check samples periodically according to what is outlined by the quality standards stated on the work order Ensure first piece sample is verified by another personnel to ensure it meets specifications. Verify the material being provided matches with what the work order is asking for to ensure all instructions are being followed Look for material defects, before & during packing, such as but not limited to scratches, dents, and distortion to the profile. Perform dimensional inspection according to the requirements on applicable orders. Shrink wrap material that is shipped in bulk on skids. Use tape and banding as required to secure & maintain the integrity of the material on the skids. Enter required data into our system to create packing tickets and apply tickets to skids. Be curious and ask questions. Make suggestions for improvement & assist in fixing problems. Maintain clean and organized work environment. Comply with all quality related policies, procedures and system requirements. Perform other duties as required. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience Grade 12 education. Review huddleboard and press status with previous shift supervisor and discuss any issues/downtime. Discuss scheduling and any discrepancies – communicate with the scheduling department as necessary to ensure effective and efficient adherence to schedule. Review metrics at end of shift (manpower, downtime, die failures, yield, and maintenance issues) and fill out production matrix. Responsible for ensuring manpower for the next shift is balanced and fully staffed by managing call-ins; request support from other departments and/or call temporary workforce as required. Issue Work requests when required to the Maintenance team with specific details and manage any unplanned downtime by providing alternative assignments while repairs are completed. Monitor workflow during walk around events to ensure good housekeeping practices are observed and aging oven traffic is smooth, consistent and raw material storage is flowing from receipt to its proper location. Support compliance with all Quality management policies and procedures, and when required, contact the Quality team for support on appearance or dimensional concerns. What You Will Do: Diagnosing and Repairing Diesel Engines: Apply your expertise to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines. Perform both minor and major overhauls to keep our engines running efficiently. Drive Line Component Maintenance: Remove, repair, and replace crucial drive line components such as transmissions, drive shafts, and differentials. Engine and Body Accessory Repairs: Maintain and repair essential engine and body accessories, including heating and air conditioning systems, alternators, generators, voltage regulators, and suspension components. Electric Bus Maintenance: Work on electric buses, including maintaining and inspecting high-voltage systems, battery packs, and electric drivetrains. What You Need to Be Successful: Technical Expertise: Experience with diesel engines, driveline components, and electrical systems. Familiarity with electric vehicle maintenance is a plus. Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with diagnostic devices (e.g., DDEC and ATEC readers), A/C recovery and charging equipment, and shop tools (e.g., hydraulic presses, pullers, manometers, tachometers, decelerometers, VOA instruments, dial indicators, micrometers, reamers, hones, vacuum and compression pumps, brake lathes, and other power tools) is highly valued. Certification: Additional certifications related to electric vehicles or advanced diagnostics are beneficial but not required Experience in Fabrication and Machining (Optional): Skills in welding, machining, or fabrication are a plus. Including the ability to utilize these skills to address unique repair needs and contribute to custom modifications as required. Overview: We are looking to fulfill our need for an Assistant Shipping Supervisor at our Teterboro, NJ facility. Full-time position: Hours 7 am - 3:30 pm (Monday - Friday) Overtime as needed and approved. Applicants from NJ with their own reliable transportation preferred.
