Job Title: Material Handler Department: Warehouse Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Prepared Date: April 2023| Updated May 2026 Hours: Monday -Thursday 6:00 AM -4:30 PM Position Description: The Material Handler I is responsible for receiving, storing, and organizing materials in the warehouse. This role also includes preparing orders, managing inventory, and keeping the warehouse clean and safe. Essential Job Functions: • Receive, label, and store materials and supplies. • Track incoming deliveries and monitor vendor schedules. • Check delivered items against order forms for accuracy. • Organize materials based on project priorities. • Enter inventory transactions into the computer system. • Prepare items for shipment (pulling, palletizing, loading, and securing). • Monitor inventory levels and suggest restocking when needed. • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe. • Follow all safety rules and guidelines. • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude. • Help with other tasks as assigned. Education and Experience • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, required. • 1+ years of previous experience in a warehouse or similar setting, preferred. Technology • Proficient with Microsoft Office, preferred. • QuickBooks experience, preferred. Skills • Good communication and teamwork skills • Strong organization and attention to detail • Willingness to learn new tasks • Basic reading, writing, and math skills • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions • Problem-solving skills in routine situations PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Frequently standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs regularly • Perform repetitive movements and physical tasks • Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, cold, noise, etc.) • Good hand-eye coordination and vision (near and far) NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
