I am a 44 year-old disabled mom living in midtown Reno and I am seeking a dependable and respectful woman to provide part-time in-home support through an established caregiving agency. All caregivers must complete agency onboarding, which generally takes one to two weeks. The agency requires a background check, a physical, a TB test, and a drug test. Marijuana is allowed. Online training is also required and must be completed on the caregiver’s own time. Once onboarding is finished, the caregiver can begin work immediately. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 am to 12:45 pm (18 hours a week total). There is flexibility for an outstanding candidate, but you must commit to a set schedule I can rely on and be punctual. The position pays $19 per hour and is paid weekly. This is an easygoing job with downtime baked in. A part of the role is simply being present for my safety (while bathing, eating, attempting tasks independently, etc.) and being available to assist me with tasks. Although this isn't the majority of the time which will be spent doing cleaning/organizing tasks on your own with guidance. I am actively working toward regaining my independence and eventually reducing or eliminating the need for a caregiver. Because of this, the demands of the job may shift depending on my progress, and I am looking for someone who can adapt as needed. I am looking for someone who will help me get my house in order (it's not bad and not dirty) so I can create systems and a routine to maintain myself. I am working on my masters degree so I'm not looking for someone to visit much with or be my new best friend as I will be doing homework or resting most of the time. I would like a self-starter who can identify if something needs to be done and take initiative. I have a dog and a cat, so the caregiver must be comfortable being around animals, though they will never be asked to feed them or clean up waste. I also have a ten year old daughter who lives with me full time and uses shared spaces and sometimes theres messes from her (like most kids) but it's kept to a minimum. The caregiver will not be responsible for organizing her stuff (things left out can go in a box by her door), her laundry (if her laundry gets mixed in with mine, as it sometimes does, it can just be set aside), or cleaning her room. Occasionally I may ask for help setting up furniture, organizing/rearranging her room, or getting stuff from the far-back part under her bed, which is considered helping me participate in family life as long as I participate and lead the activity and is part of the job. My boyfriend stays here two to three days a week, and the caregiver will not be expected to clean up after him or assist with anything related to his personal space (same thing goes if his laundry gets mixed in, which is rare, but just set it aside). There will be times I take on side-quests (like clearing out a space, organizing stuff, rounding up donations, hanging pictures, assembling furniture, etc) that I'll need help with. And sometimes I need someone to prepare simple meals. I also will sometimes need/want to go on outings like to the doctors, thrift store, or grocery store and will need a companion but I drive an adaptive vehicle you do not need to drive me and my mobility equipment around unless you prefer to. I also need help cleaning my car sometimes. Experience working in a home that includes grade-school aged children is a plus, even if that comes only from managing a household with your own family. Caregiving experience is not required. What matters most is reliability, respectful communication, the ability to follow instructions without dismissive/judgmental/ableist comments, and maintaining healthy professional boundaries. The hiring process includes filling out a form online and two interviews. If I feel like you might be a good fit based on your form responses, I will conduct a short Zoom interview. If I believe we might be a good fit after that, a second interview will be held in my home on a weekend day, with my boyfriend present. Please have references available upon request. This position assists patients with crisis intervention, individual and group therapies, case management, information and referral, and other specialized clinical social work services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates patient data, develops and implements a plan of care for the patient. Responsible for performing psychosocial assessments on all patients to determine social service needs, diagnosis and plan of care. Completes progress notes and discharge plans within facility’s policy. Works cooperatively as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides direct and group therapy (individual and family) to patients. Appropriately utilizes established resources to assist in completing case management duties independently. Follows up with emergencies and special incident reports with child and family to process and assist in resolution. Documents treatment provided to patients in their medical record based on established case management guidelines. Completes all reports for suspected abuse as legally mandated and consistently informs supervisor. Requirements Master's Degree required Current Nevada State Clinical Internship or Clinical Licensure preferred (LCSW, LMFT, LCPC or Board Approved Internship) Experience with Autism special needs strongly preferred One (1) year of clinical work with experience in diagnosis, psychotherapy and assessment based treatment planning preferred Previous experience working with adolescents Experience with therapeutic limit-setting or an understanding of level systems or other behavior management modalities helpful Ability to maintain professional boundaries Benefits A full benefits package is available the first of the month following just one month of employment!
