Summary: Seeking an experienced real estate accountant to manage financial reporting, ledger review, payroll, invoicing, and budget preparation for a diverse portfolio. Highlights: 1. Manage accounting and financial reporting for real estate portfolio and entities 2. Collaborate with project managers and support ownership directly 3. Prepare financial statements, budgets, and ensure compliance Real estate development firm seeks accountant to join its team. Job involves all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for the company’s real estate portfolio and operating entities. Will work closely with company owners. Portfolio is largely rental apartment communities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Review and prepare general ledger detail and reporting; record journal entries and reconcile capital accounts. • Record rent collections and manage bank deposits. • Process weekly payroll. • Enter and process vendor invoices and initiate payments. • Prepare monthly journal entries, including depreciation. • Collaborate with project managers to prepare and process monthly requisitions for active construction projects. • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and variance analyses. • Provide annual financials to external accounting and tax firms for tax return preparation and ensure timely filing. • Prepare annual operating budgets for all entities, including property management and construction divisions. • Support periodic bank reporting and compliance requirements. Desired Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate accounting (property management, development, or construction). • Experience with property management accounting software (Rent Manager, Yardi, Sage or similar). • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong written and verbal communication abilities. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
