Position Summary
Farm Data Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Electronics Assembly Technician to support the production of high-quality electronic control systems. This role is responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, configuration, documentation, staging, and material tracking of electronic components and control systems used in agricultural technology applications. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on technical skills, understands electronic schematics, and takes pride in precision workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and wire power supplies, PLC controllers, and other necessary components according to schematics and engineering specifications
Build and wire control enclosures and panels
Configure and program electronic control devices as required
Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of control enclosures and power systems
Verify proper operation of assembled systems prior to deployment
Re-certify and test returned equipment
Stage and pack equipment for installation and deployment
Process and track incoming materials and components
Document build processes, configuration settings, and test results
Maintain organized workspaces and follow safety procedures
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure product quality and continuous improvement
Assist in identifying and resolving assembly or design issues
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics assembly or related technical field
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electronic testing equipment (multimeter, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Basic understanding of electrical systems and low-voltage control systems
Ability to follow documented processes and maintain accurate records
Preferred Qualifications
Technical certification in electronics or related field
Experience building industrial control panels or agricultural technology systems
Familiarity with programmable controllers or electronic control modules
Soldering experience
