Essential duties/responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic sanitation plans for all Algood Food Company facilities to ensure that sanitary performance meets Algood standards as well as regulatory and customer requirements. Develop, review, and update Master Sanitation Schedule and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures as needed to maintain best practices. Lead production, sanitation, and maintenance personnel to effectively and safely complete production and facility sanitation; collaborate with plant management to lead sanitation activities on planned Sanitation Days (regardless of assigned employee/ department). Plan and organize training activities related to sanitation and pest management: Train all plant employees on sanitation procedures and chemical safety / use; and Organize and conduct refresher training annually, or as needed. Coach and develop sanitation employees to meet company, department, and individual performance goals. Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to evaluate new/modified equipment and facility construction to ensure sanitary design requirements are met. Continually evaluate sanitary conditions to recommend improvements to processes, equipment, and facilities. Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other related sanitation metrics to measure sanitary conditions and performance. Review and analyze data sanitation KPIs and metrics, internal and external audits, and environmental monitoring program to identify trends and implement corrective/preventive actions. Oversee and coordinate contractors providing waste removal, recycling, pest management, chemical management, and supplemental sanitation services. Partner with QA to lead cross-functional teams to investigate and implement corrective actions for sanitation issues, including adverse environmental results, water intrusion, and other unsanitary conditions. Conduct internal audits and/or monthly inspections. Support facility during audits, communications, and other interactions with customers, regulatory authorities, and other third parties. Continuously improve professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing scientific publications, and participating in industry associations. Maintain records of sanitation and verification activities. Perform other duties as assigned. About the Company: Algood began business at its Louisville plant in August 1985. The plant, whose previous owner was The Beatrice Companies, had been producing food products for nearly 75 years. In 1985, its primary product was private label peanut butter. However, over the years, Algood has invested significant capital to expand its markets to include industrial, contract manufacturing, food service, the U.S. Government, and export.
