LaBella is currently hiring for a Senior Structural Engineer in our Glens Falls, NY office. The Structures Discipline provides structural engineering services with emphasis on new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation. Individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams. Duties: Serves as a Lead Engineer who supervises a team of structural engineers, designers and technicians in production of structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, bidding and construction administration for large complex projects including calculation and document reviews. Develops cost effective system layouts as well as performing calculations and coordination with other disciplines. Performs site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions. Prepares technical specifications. Reviews and evaluates shop drawings and product submittals. Visits construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed. Maintains and manages budgets for projects including hours and resources. Maintains client relationships Prepares Engineering Reports. Completes complex and specialty types of design. Stays abreast of technical advancements in respective field and disseminates information to others. Works closely with regional managers on managing workload allocation and assists on the preparation of business proposals for new work. Requirements Minimum of 15 years of experience working in the consulting engineering industry. Strong writing and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. BS in Civil Engineering is required. A New York State PE license is required. Revit Experience is a plus. Project history using computer analysis software experience is essential. Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. We are currently hiring an Environmental Analyst to work within our Environmental Division’s Phase I ESA Environmental Due Diligence Program in our Ballston Spa, NY office. LaBella’s growing Due Diligence Program is one of the largest and most established in the eastern United States and is quickly expanding into other geographies. LaBella’s due diligence practice services a wide variety of clients consisting of municipalities, developers, attorneys, and financial institutions, each requiring client-centric and sometimes creative solutions. In addition to environmental due diligence services, LaBella’s program provides construction risk due diligence services, including the completion of Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections. The size, expected growth, and geographies serviced by LaBella’s Due Diligence Program creates a unique and exciting opportunity for the professional growth of the right candidate while working with some of the region's most experienced environmental professionals within the environmental due diligence/environmental consulting industry. Responsibilities: • Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Transaction Screen ESAs, and Records Search with Risk Assessment (RSRA) reports with the support of Environmental Due Diligence Program senior staff/Project Managers. • Assist in the completion of Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections with the support of Construction Risk senior staff. • Conduct site visits throughout, but not limited to, the Syracuse and Albany Metropolitan area and Central New York for a variety of environmental and construction-related due diligence projects. • Obtain, review, and interpret historical, regulatory, and municipal records. • Report findings to due diligence team leaders and assist in the evaluation of environmental and construction-related risks. • Independently manage due diligence assignments and meet project deliverable schedules. Requirements • BS in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field of study. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs. • Experience with Quire software a plus. • Experience with environmental and construction-related due diligence projects such as Phase I ESAs, Transaction Screen ESAs, Phase II ESAs, Property Condition Assessments, and Draw Inspections a plus. • Ability to work in a fast-paced due diligence team environment. • Good verbal, technical writing, communication, and time management skills are essential. Pavement evaluation and assessment. Development of detailed construction drawings and specifications for steep slopes, site retaining walls, culverts, and pavement sections. Field oversight of subsurface investigations and soil investigation services. Flexible schedule to arrive at project sites at required times, out of town work periodically. Perform technical analysis and provide parameters for design based on subsurface investigation results. Prepare interpretive engineering reports. Perform field inspections during the construction phase, as needed.
