Improve efficiency in national airspace system Apply Now Description Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer who will be the Concurrent Engineering Lead for a dynamic team working on the development of an air traffic control and management system th improves aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nionwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. The Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA) Terminal Flight Da Manager (TFDM) is the surface management solution th will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operions in the Nional Airspace System (NAS). The Terminal Flight Da Management (TFDM) program is a Federal Aviion Administrion’s (FAA) NextGen program based on airport surface management th provides efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by providing a new and comprehensive integred surface traffic control and management system. TFDM functions include: Surface Collaborive Decision making (SCDM), departure scheduler and other airport decision tools Electronic Flight Da (EFD); Enhanced Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS) Replacement or integrion of multiple systems in the Nional Airspace System (NAS).  TFDM will share da among controllers, aircraft operors, and airports so they can better stage arrivals and departures and manage traffic flow within terminal airspace for greer efficiency.  Stakeholders will have a shared awareness of flights on the ground and in the air, the ability to exchange da electronically, with the goal of a continuous real-time picture of traffic volume and airport resources, making flights more efficient from ge to ge. Responsibilities: Supporting the TFDM program as the Leidos Systems Engineering (SE) Concurrent Engineering (CE) Lead. Providing cross-functional technical leadership, coordinion and guidance for the TFDM program the successful candide will be: Modernizing the air traffic control tower equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight da and implementing electronic flight strips. Streamlining the schedule sequence of departures to improve efficiency on the surface. Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaborion and decision-making capabilities between the ge and the tower. Systems Engineering (SE) Concurrent Engineering (CE) Lead providing direction, coordinion and guidance to the TFDM engineering team working on TFDM SIG/CRs, Change Request implemention and site deployment activities. Daily focus on driving technical teams, ensuring complex TFDM system solutions align with mission and contractual requirements. Assist with development of plans and manage resources to ensure program schedule, budget, quality and specificion goals are tained. Manage and monitor schedules, timelines, and milestones from initiion to delivery to meet program goals. Coordine across TFDM product teams and functional areas to assign and prioritize tasks and ensure on-time completion. Develop and deliver progress reports and present to internal/external engineering management and program management. Identify and assess dependencies and issues and develop recommendions for solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer sisfaction goals and objectives. Reviewing and ensuring the quality of deliverables and work products across the team. Serving as a technical interface with the FAA customer to address/answer questions reling to the developed requirements, use cases describing human interactions and design decisions. Performing hands on Systems Engineering work as needed for the TFDM system. Providing on-site Transition support the TFDM sites. Qualificions: Demonstred leadership abilities along with strong Systems Engineering technical skills Systems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects ghering user requirements and converting them into system requirements Proven experience with supporting highly critical customer missions Excellent verbal and written communicion skills, including experience:Working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives Interfacing with other functional areas (e.g. Software, Hardware) Demonstred ability to work effectively with others in a team environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Typically requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctore in technical domain. Desired Skills: Familiarity with the Nional Air Space and FAA Air Traffic control programs Experience supporting Technical Interchange and Working Group meetings with customer Experience with IBM Doors and IBM Rhapsody Familiarity with SysML and System Engineering modeling and design approach Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite and JIRA If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
