The Accountant provides financial oversight to strengthen the organization’s accounting practices and ensure long-term sustainability. This role reviews financial processes for accuracy, advises on complex accounting issues, and supports leadership and staff in building long-term capacity. The Accountant guides the Accounting Coordinator, Office Director, and Administrator to ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness. Requirements/Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent credential preferred); *5+ years of progressive accounting experience (experience in leadership or advisory role given preference); *Knowledge of GAAP, payroll laws, tax reporting, and nonprofit/education sector accounting (preferred); *Experience with grant compliance and annual audit preparation: *Strong mentoring, coaching, and communication skills; *Ability to assess systems, recommend improvements, and implement best practices. Position will be part-time (<28 hours per week). Hours will be scheduled and approved by supervisor during office hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
