RMF Engineering, Inc has an immediate need for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Raleigh, NC office.
Responsibilities:
Work with a skilled team of licensed professional engineers designing infrastructure systems for national higher education, government, and healthcare clients
Perform QA functions for major projects including compliance checks with USACE, UFGS, NAVFAC, VA TIL, and other federal guidelines
Overnight travel to project sites across the country for site condition assessment and construction monitoring.
Perform engineering for central energy plants including chilled water, steam, and hot water generation and distribution systems such as boilers, auxiliaries, controls, and distribution piping
Perform engineering calculations for steam mass balance, pumping hydraulics, and pipe code stress analysis
Support development of mechanical construction drawings and specifications.
Participate in construction administration oversight (shop drawing review, site visits, and progress documentation.
Coordinating with owners and contractors to develop and execute engineering designs.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Ability to travel will be required, roughly 6-8 days per month
Strong organizational skill
Strong teamwork, communications, and customer service skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineering Licensure or ability to obtain
4-8 Years of experience in engineering or construction related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an Architectural, Engineering, or Construction firm
Experience with USACE, UFGS, NAVFAC, VA TIL, or similar federal design requirements
Familiar with reading and understanding RFP’s, RFQ’s, and RFI’s preferred
Experience creating and performing QA functions on multi-trade projects
USACE CQM certification
Experience prioritizing tasks in a project/deadline driven environment
Experience with district steam, chilled, and hot water systems
