Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and certified Flaggers to join our team for 2nd Shift and Night Shift operations on various construction projects. As a Flagger, you will be responsible for directing traffic safely around active work zones, ensuring the safety of both workers and motorists. This role is vital in maintaining smooth traffic flow and adhering to safety protocols during highway maintenance, road construction, and civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for safety, and experience working in outdoor construction environments.
3:00 PM to 11:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Key Responsibilities:
Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely through construction zones using standardized hand signals and flagging equipment
Set up and maintain proper traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barriers in accordance with federal and state regulations
Communicate clearly with construction crews, motorists, and other stakeholders to coordinate safe work zone operations
Monitor work zones continuously to identify potential hazards or unsafe conditions and respond appropriately
Adhere strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and safety protocols at all times
Assist with the setup of traffic control plans prior to shifts and ensure proper removal upon completion
Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately to supervisors for prompt resolution
Requirements:
Valid certification as a Flagger from an accredited training program
Prior experience in traffic control, road construction, or civil infrastructure projects preferred
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, or front loader truck is a plus
Familiarity with construction tools, power tools, and hand tools used on job sites
Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting in outdoor environments
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to highway maintenance and construction zones
Mechanical knowledge of equipment such as Caterpillar machinery is advantageous
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in team settings
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during night shifts or extended hours
