Apply Now Description The Homeland Security Airports, Borders and Security Division Leidos currently has an opening for a Systems Administror. This position will be responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integrion, verificion and validion, and fielding. This position develops technical solutions – evaluing cost, risk, and supportability -- th require collaborion with internal experts and deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. It requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of the technical domain and has broad understanding of other reled specialty areas. The technology environment is a multi-tiered, Java, web-based environment using JBoss Applicion Server and Portal technologies integred with QuestionMark, Active Directory, MS SQL Server, IBI WebFOCUS, ILOG, and Oracle 19c dabase. The server environment includes Dell and other hardware, The environment is highly virtualized running VMware ESX supporting virtual servers running RedH Enterprise Linux and Windows Server opering systems. The networking infrastructure includes Palo Alto & Cisco equipment (e.g., firewalls, Calyst switches, MDS fiber switches etc.). External storage solutions equipment is from Dell. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocion and interface definition, technical management, integrion, system testing, and quality assurance. IMPACT: Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operional results or project deliverables.  Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area.  - The Systems Administror will provide support for the management, operions, and maintenance of the SASS server, network, and dabase environments.  - Provides continuous assurance of the successful day-to-day operion and viability of the SASS server and network environment according to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).  - Maintains RHEL, ESXi, and Windows opering systems, crees templed server images, crees snapshots/clones, manages storage, monitors logs, and crees/edits automion scripts. - Participes in disaster recovery failover testing as well as system/dabase backup maintenance and testing. - Monitors and coordines synchronizion between production and failover SASS environments (may require occasional travel). - Prepares and documents procedures for day-to-day operions and ensures th they are carried out. - Manages maintenance of the infrastructure, including applicion of critical and recommended pches and upgrades for system switches, firewalls, and SANs. - Coordines on-site resources to support installion of new hardware or software releases. Some repairs and maintenance may require travel to customer sites. - Prepares regular security and operional reports for delivery to the customer in support of NIST 800-53 auditing. - Installs and manages SIEM monitoring agents and maintains STIG compliance. - Interacts with the customer directly and communices concerns to Leidos project management and technical team members. BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Informion Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or reled discipline - Minimum of three years hands-on experience with web-based server systems, Linux or other Unix opering systems, virtualizion, and dealing with network connectivity and troubleshooting. - Expertise in VMWare and RHEL administrion, including system hardening, performance tuning, and automion - Experience with creing process, procedures, and documention reling to da center management, disaster recovery, and off-site backup storage and retrieval. - Experience in large, enterprise-level systems deployments and da center operions environments.  - Experience with NIST 800-53 security requirements, managing STIG settings, interacting with various vulnerability scanning tools, and complying with audit activities reled to regulory compliance. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment. ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Azure and/or AWS cloud administrion experience a plus - Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence tools. - Experience administring/troubleshooting Apache Tomc, JBoss and SMTP a plus. - Experience with network/firewall configurion and IP setup a plus.
