Amazing and unique opportunity to join a team consisting of THREE CAREGIVERS to provide 1:1 care for a single client in her own personal residence. We are reposting this position because the last candidate didn't work out. We are looking to fill our THURS, FRI, & SAT position. Must be available to work all three days. No substitutions - other caregiver days are already set. Because of the intimate nature of the position (assistance with bathing and toileting) FEMALE APPLICANTS ONLY. Only applicants already local to the Phoenix area will be considered.
Position is to assist a woman in her 70’s who suffered a major stroke. She has significant weakness and mobility issues. Strong transfer experience with a gait belt is required. Position is to assist her with all ADL’s including transfers in/out of bed and to/from the couch, toileting, getting dressed, showers, making meals, and doing her laundry. Only one caregiver is scheduled to work each day. The other caregivers cover Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed.
Days/Hours: Thurs, Fri, and Sat. 12 hr shifts from 7am to 7pm, with Thurs., Fri., Sat. evenings/nights on-call (on-call evenings consist of keeping a baby monitor on overnight in case she needs emergency assistance). She very rarely needs overnight help, but when needed those hours are paid at an additional hourly rate. Monthly grocery shopping/errands are divided between the caregivers.
Live-In Position: This is a LIVE-IN position. A significant portion of the compensation for this job is in the form of tax-free room and board. When wages and tax-free room and board are combined, feels like the equivalent of $80k/year (for only 3 days/week of work). See attached benefit summary in photos. Position comes with a provided private BRAND NEW on-site 540 sq ft apartment located in the property's detached guest house for the caregiver's full-time regular residence/living. This is NOT a shared apartment.
No dogs in the apartments. Housing is provided as a regular residence for the Caregivers; offers to reside off-site and commute for shifts will not be considered. We are looking for someone with some degree of flexibility with days/hours to potentially pick up some additional hours/shifts (as needed) in case another caregiver is out sick, on vacation, etc. Caregiver apartments are located approx. 10 ft from her private casita. Large lot in a great neighborhood, private parking. Great opportunity to have all living expenses covered with consistent pay PLUS have 4 days off per week. Must successfully complete 3-week trial-period before on-site housing is provided.
PHOTOS: We are finishing construction on the apartments and they are just about complete. Drywall, stucco and cabinets are scheduled for this week. Posting photos show renderings of what the interior of the apartment will look like once complete.
Pay: Compensation package consisting of:
- $2,500.00/month in pay as W2 employee (@ standard tax withholdings this is about $485/week)
- $3k+/month in paid Rent and Living Expenses:
• Paid Rent: Provided private fully furnished luxury one bedroom apartment with FULL kitchen (refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, disposal, microwave), washer/dryer in unit, and private entrance
• Paid Utilities: Electric, water/sewer/trash, internet, streaming TV
• Provided/Paid Cell Phone: Provided iPhone 14 with service
• Provided/Paid Groceries/Household Supplies: On-site grocery store/area stocked with pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and general household goods. For caregiver personal use only.
• Provided On-site Storage: Provided private 8x5 storage unit
• Auto Reimbursement: Reimbursement for approved auto repair expenses up to $50/month

Job Requirements:
- Must be local to AZ (out of state applicants will not be considered)
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must have ability to pass background check and screen for illegal drugs
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA
- Must be fluent English speaker
- Must be ok with friendly dogs and cats
- Must have at least two years of prior caregiver experience
- Have strong transfer skills with a gait belt
- Must be reliable, dependable and on time
- Ability to use sound judgement and remain calm in a variety of situations
- Must have reliable transportation (ideal applicant will have a reliable vehicle, but applicants working on getting a vehicle may be considered if they can demonstrate that they can be reliable, dependable and on time during the trial period (before housing is provided)
- Use provided housing as regular full-time housing
