Summary:  The X-Ray Reader will learn and utilize expertise in non-destructive testing to assure compliance with the quality requirements of the company and customers. They will interpret radiographic images and document results in accordance with established technique cards, develop shooting techniques as required, calibre equipment. Essential Functions: Perform non-destructive testing using radiographic images to determine casting quality and pinpoint corrections needed for discrepancies in parts. Utilize instructions for radiographic inspections of castings through technique cards. Evalue each image to ensure uniform accuracy and image quality. Visually inspect each casting to identify areas th require improvements in casting or welding. Find areas of frequently occurring imperfections and consult engineering or other necessary departments. Endorse radiographic reports authorizing complete and accure inspections have been performed and findings documented. Develop shooting techniques as required. Calibre equipment and inspect radiographic equipment. Other duties as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities typically required to perform the essential functions of this job: Ability to understand all associed documention and part routing procedures. Ability to maintain high quality rings while also processing parts an acceptable production speed. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Educion &  Experience: Able to work as a team player and be self-motived. Able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions. Compliance with general company tendance standard is required. HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candides not meeting this requirement who possesses relevant experience will be considered. Must be least 18 years of age.  Solid job history including more than 1 year previous or recent employer. Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check. Must be willing to participe in pre-employment and periodic drug screening. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodions. Mental & Physical Demands typically required to perform the essential functions of this job: Must have vision acuity which meets test chart and color perception to distinguish and differentie between colors used. Must be willing/able to work outside department as required. Work Conditions: Work may be performed in noisy areas, where odors may be present.
