Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates and directs building crew activities, ensuring safety, productivity, and positive relationships within the warehouse environment. Highlights: 1. Ensure safety, sanitation, and security standards are met We are hiring for a Warehouse Supervisor Salaried position. $55-60K starting, M-F, 230pm through 1130pm. Must have at least 3 years of Supervisor experience. Please email resumes. PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for coordinating with the Warehouse Manager and building day shift activities. Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing his building crew and directing all activities. Responsible for monitoring the correct procedures to ensure employee safety and product protection. Communicates with the Warehouse Manager on any relevant issues. Maintains and fosters a positive and cooperative relationship with corresponding leadership team and the CSR’s. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Team Meetings – Responsible for leading daily crew meetings. Meetings are intended to lay out the day's agenda. This includes topics ranging from workload, training, and relevant information. • Shipping and Receiving - Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with the warehouse team, to ensure that all paperwork and product is located and properly processed. • Scheduling – Participate in establishing work schedules. Ensure that schedules are correctly implemented and jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly. • Labor Management – Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve prescribed objectives. In collaboration with the Warehouse Manager, develop and maintain a productive work team by maintaining programs for training, safety, compliance, and skill set building. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining subordinates. Provide input into the performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations. • Communications - Attend warehouse meetings. Interact with Warehouse Manager, office lead, customer service staff, Inventory Control, customers, and employees. Act as a liaison between employees and Warehouse Manager. • Truck Scheduling – Review truck schedule daily. Stay updated on all issues related to; late trucks, trucks not down to temp, and demurrage. Collaborate with customer service staff to inform dispatch and customers of any relevant issues regarding updates of trucking status. • Quality – Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. • Warehouse – Oversee warehouse team to achieve optimal utilization of space throughout the warehouse. Maintain First in First out product rotation. Understand warehouse needs and be proactive to notify management of any needs that will affect production. • Safety, Sanitation, Security – maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations while promoting safety. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA, BRC and GFSI standards. Be a participant in the safety contract with crew and management. Set a good example for safety standards and encourage all employees to strive for the goal of zero injuries. • To Do List – Have tasks ready at all times for the crew to work on during slow times. Communicate with supervisors, management, Inventory Control, and CSR’s to understand any projects and priorities. • Warehouse Supplies - Monitor and advise Warehouse Manager of warehouse supply needs. Including, not limited to; product labels, shrink wrap, office supplies, gear, pallet pads, cleaning supplies, etc. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Skills and expectations: • General Skills – Able to read and count accurately, do simple math and write legibly. Familiarity with company computer programs and e-mail. Highest level of RF knowledge. • Leadership skills – Able to delegate tasks to team, work out crew issues, teach employees ongoing customer and company protocols, specifications and policies. Demonstrate good work ethics and a positive attitude to employees. • Warehousing – Understand and enforce proper FIFO and staging of stock product and orders. Maintain and enforce safety, GFSI and OSHA procedures. • Inventory – Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies to the Inventory Control department. • Document Understanding – Understanding of inventory reports (ILTR, THIS, LOEN, ADRE), pick sheets, BOL forms, manifesting procedures, discrepancy forms, etc. • Procedural Understanding – Understanding of Company policies as well as customer specifications and requirements. • Order Fulfillment – Detailed understanding of the order fulfillment process, tie’s & high’s, unique customer specs, lot change tracking, tag requirements, order staging, etc. • Time Management – Able to manage / delegate workload in an efficient manner. • Communication – Able to effectively communicate with employees as well as the office staff and warehouse Manager. Important Tasks: • Helping Warehouse Manager with performance evaluations. • Maintaining well trained crew and assisting in training new employees. • Monitoring overtime and crew hours to minimize overtime as needed. • Work with the Warehouse Manager to ensure that ADP is up to date for employees. • Have tasks ready for the crew at all times. • Maintaining Company Safety and Sanitation goals. • Maintain accurate inventory in preparation for monthly audits. FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS All Staff have the responsibility for complying with all inventory safety, legality, and regulatory requirements. Employees must adhere to Company quality systems to include following all procedures, using the correct forms, and completing all documents accurately. Documented arrangements are in place to cover for the absence of key staff. All staff have the responsibility to report any food safety and quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
